I am a healthcare professional. Due to work I often feel tension, headaches, stomach discomfort, posture related backache and fatigue.

Qigong exercises have been practised most evenings before retiring or occasionally during the day for the past 18 months.

Whilst practising the sitting exercise or Jin Gong I become increasingly relaxed. I usually find that tears stream down my face at first, then I may have an increase build- up of saliva, my feet feel hot and my breathing becomes slower and deeper. I become conscious of movements in the abdomen.

Overall the effects of practising are to feel more relaxed during the daytime; to be more aware of incorrect posture when working; to be more sensitive and less tolerant of stressful situations and to sleep more peacefully after practising at night, awaking refreshed the next morning.
