Qigong Mindfulness practice
Much of suffering and unhappiness arises when you take each thought that comes into your mind for the truth. Situations don’t make you unhappy – they may cause you physical pain, but they don’t make you unhappy – your thoughts make you unhappy; your interprétations and the stories you tell yourself make you unhappy.
As you grow up you form a mental image of who you are based on cultural and social conditioning – what can be called ‘ego’. To the ego, the present moment hardly exists; the past and future take precedence.
