The practice of mindfulness, of bringing the scattered mind home. Home of the universe. The practice of mindfulness defuses our negativity, aggression, and turbulent emotions, which may have been gathering power over many lifetimes. So when you doing Qigong it is essential to create the right inner environment of the mind. Creating that right environment is vital for your energy truly to happen. There is no effort, only inch understanding, wakefulness, and unshakable certainty. When I am in the nature of mind, the ordinary mind is no longer there. There is no need to sustain or confirm a sense of being: I simply am. A fundamental trust is present. There is nothing in particular to do. You do not need any method of Qigong. By”skillful”
I mean that you bring together your understanding of the essential nature of your mind, your knowledge of your own various, shifting moods, and the insight you have developed through your practice into how to work with yourself, from moment to moment. By bringing these together, you learn the art of applying whatever method is appropriate for particular situation or problem, to transform that environment of your mind. But remember: A method is only a means, not the Chi itself. It is through practicing the method skillfully that you reach the perfection of that pure state of total presence, which is the real chi. Qigong is not “getting used to” is it means that Qigong is nothing other than getting used to the practice of Qigong. Qigong is not striving, but naturally becoming assimilated into it.” As you continue to practice the method, then Chi slowly arises. Chi is not something that you can do. It is something that has to happen spontaneously, only when we have perfected the practice. So we can only begin to glimpse and rest in the nature of mind when we have stilled the turbulence of our thoughts and emotions. Once we have found stability in our Qigong, noises and disturbances of every kind will have far less impact.
In the west people tend to be absorbed by what I would call “the technology of meditation. The modern world is addicted to purely practical formulate. But by far the most important feature of Qigong is not the technique, but the spirit: the skillful, inspired, and creative way in which we practice which could also be called “The Posture”. The correct posture is to create a more inspiring environment for Qigong, for the awakening of Chi. There is a connection between the posture of the body and attitude of the mind. Chi arises naturally once your posture and attitude is inspired. Whereas if your mind is in a calm, inspired state, it will influence your whole posture and you can stand or sit much more naturally and effortlessly. So it is very important to unite the posture of your body and the confidence that arises from your realization of the nature of mind.
